After graduating, Eliza Jasper decided to pack her bags and take the opportunity to relocate from Victoria to Western Australia in her first year. May is Macular Month! Did you know that age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of blindness in Australia and New Zealand, responsible for 50% of blindness and severe vision loss. Specsavers and the Macular Disease Foundation Australia (MDFA) have partnered in an Australian-first to overcome preventable vision loss and increase support for patients.

It’s World Glaucoma Week!

Specsavers Optometrists test dozens of patients’ eyes each week and detect glaucoma at increased rates because of our world-leading eye test practices including using OCT on all patients. They also refer thousands of patients to Glaucoma Australia and Glaucoma NZ and as a result, 90% are more likely to attend appointments, adhere to treatment and tell their relatives to get tested.
